Media Creation Lab and Speech Center
Spring Semester 2020
Media Creation Lab and Speech Center Mission
COVID 19 Update to Services: The Media Creation Lab is not accessible to the campus any longer but the Speech Center tutors will hold online consultations with students who need assistance preparing for presentations. The tutors may be contacted directly for an appointment to meet via Zoom. Please use the emails the the table below to connect with a tutor directly.
The Media Creation Lab and Speech Center in BA 511 is located in the McFarland Library on the fifth floor and near the Writing Center. Our consultants provide a variety of services to assist in the creation of instructional and educational videos. In addition, we offer free tutoring for all students for any course that requires public speaking or group presentations. The student does not need to be enrolled in a public speaking or communication course. Tutors can help students with outlining and research strategies, electronic visual aids, brainstorming of topics, and delivery techniques.
All students will be able to practice their speeches or group presentations, using any visual aids they may have, record the practice speeches and presentations to then playback for critiquing of what they do well and what aspects of the presentation they need to improve or strengthen. Services are also available for editing videos and incorporating graphics.
